§ 10.3. Applicability.

  • (a)

    [Compliance.] Permanent off-premises outdoor advertising may be erected, placed, established, painted, created, or maintained in the City of Patterson only in conformance with the standards, procedures, exemptions, and other requirements of this article.

    (b)

    Exemptions. The provisions of this article do not apply to the following:

    (1)

    On-premises outdoor signs advertising or identifying activities conducted on or products sold on the property upon which they are located;

    (2)

    Temporary political/election signage and advertising, except that all temporary political/election advertising and signage shall be removed within thirty (30) days from the date on which the final determination of the issue is made;

    (3)

    Any public notice or warning required by a valid and applicable federal, state, parish, and/or municipal law, regulation, or ordinance;

    (4)

    Works of art that do not include a commercial message;

    (5)

    Holiday lights and decorations with no commercial message, but only between November 15 and January 15; and

    (6)

    Traffic control signs and general information signage to advise vehicular traffic of corporate limits, tourist information, rest area facilities, etc., all of which must conform to LADOTD standards for uniform traffic control and information devices.
