§ 10.6. Prohibited off-premises outdoor advertising.

  • (a)

    The following off-premises outdoor advertising structures shall not be permitted:

    (1)

    Structures which are obsolete, not meeting construction standards, out-of-date political billboards and placards, structures advertising defunct businesses, structures temporary or mobile in nature, and those which have been erected without an off-premises outdoor advertising permit;

    (2)

    Structures which are not clean and in good repair;

    (3)

    Structures which are illegal under state law or regulation;

    (4)

    Signs that are not permanently and securely affixed on a substantial structure;

    (5)

    Structures which do not meet local construction standards and/or standards as set forth in this article;

    (6)

    Structures which were constructed or erected on or over a public right-of-way;

    (7)

    Signs which are erected or maintained upon trees, utility poles, buildings, benches, and/or painted or drawn upon rocks or other natural features; and

    (8)

    Inflatable signs and tethered balloons.
