§ 2-105. Duties enumerated.

  • It shall be the duty of the advisory council on aging people to collect facts and statistics and make special studies of conditions pertaining to the employment, health, financial status, recreation, social adjustment or other conditions affecting the welfare of the aging people in the community; to keep abreast of the latest developments in this field of activity throughout the state and the nation; to interpret its findings to the citizens of the community; to provide for a mutual exchange of ideas and information on the community or parish level; to conduct hearings, to make recommendations for needed improvements and additional resources to promote the welfare of the aging; to serve as an advisory body to the governing authority of the city in regard to matters having to do with the aging; to coordinate the services of all agencies serving the aging; and to assist and cooperate with the state commission on the aging.
