§ 38-113. Disconnection due to delinquency.

  • In the event that a customer is disconnected from the water distribution system by the removal of the water for being delinquent in paying his monthly water bill or any other utility bill collected by the city, the city shall reinstall water service only after the customer has paid all back bills in full, and in addition, pays a penalty to cover the cost of the removal and reinstallation of the meter. Said sum shall cover both water and gas reconnections if both have been disconnected by reason of the delinquency of the consumer. The penalty charge shall be in an amount as established by the mayor and city council from time to time.
