§ 38-177. Connection to sewer main required; penalty; termination.

  • (a)

    All houses, business places and other structures located within 300 feet of any city sewer shall be connected to said sewer line so as to dispose of all waste, water and discharge from all sanitary appliances within a period of 30 days from the final construction and laying of said line.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to connect to said sewerage main as above required within 45 days after notice by certified mail from the city.

    (c)

    Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished as provided in section 1-9.

    (d)

    In addition to the criminal penalty hereinabove set forth the failure of any person, firm or corporation to comply with the provisions of this section shall subject said person, firm or corporation to the immediate termination by the city of all city services rendered to said person, firm or corporation, including, but not by way of limitation, water services, gas service and garbage collection.
