§ 8-74. Insurance prerequisite to engaging in electrical business.

  • (a)

    Required. Every person desiring to engage in electrical work in the city shall deposit with the mayor and city council a certificate of insurance evidencing the fact that said person is insured against any and all liability which may arise out of such work.

    (b)

    Amount. Said certificate of insurance shall evidence the issuance of liability insurance to the insured in the amount of at least $25,000.00 for injury to or death of one person in one accident, $50,000.00 for injury to or death of more than one person in one accident, and $10,000.00 for property damage arising out of one accident.

    (c)

    Conditions. Such insurance shall indemnify and hold harmless the city and indemnify all persons entitled thereto against all costs, expenses, damages and injury sustained by the negligence of the insured, his agents, servants and employees, or his failure to comply with the terms of this article in doing work made the subject matter hereof, and otherwise shall be in the form and executed as required by the mayor and board of aldermen.

    (d)

    Renewal. Such insurance shall be renewed annually on January 1 of each year as a prerequisite to the issuance of a license for said year.
