§ 8-161. Standards for gas appliances prescribed.

  • All gas appliances hereafter installed shall be of a design and construction approved as to safety by the American Gas Association, except such apparatus as said association does not accept for test and approval, and such apparatus not so accepted must be of a design and construction set forth in the specifications of the bureau of standards of the United States Department of Commerce. Appliances in the stock of any dealer or jobber in the municipality may be used with the approval of the gas inspector. Used appliances may be reinstalled, when, in the opinion of said inspector, they may be used without danger to life or property.
