§ 4.5. Sidewalks

General. Sidewalks are required and are to be constructed according to the standards of design shown below.

4.502.

Composition; Width; thickness. Sidewalks shall be constructed of concrete. Sidewalks shall be located not less than one foot from the property line to prevent interference or encroachment by fencing, walls, hedges or other planting or structures placed on the property line at a later date. Sidewalks shall be four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick.

4.503.

Drainage. All sidewalks shall be installed with due consideration to preserve and provide drainage of adjacent properties to drainage conduits.

4.504.

Exceptions. The requirements of this section may be waived by the Patterson Planning Commission and Board of Aldermen in areas when it can be shown that the sidewalks need not or cannot meet the aforementioned specifications.
