§ 30-104. Disposition of proceeds of impoundment sale.
Latest version.
All funds received from the sale of a vehicle sold as provided in this article shall
be applied first to the payment of any costs, charges, fees or fines due the city
and assessed against the vehicle or owner thereof; and the balance, if any, shall
be placed in a separate account by the city. Any time within one year after the sale,
if the owner presents himself and presents due proof that he was the owner of the
vehicle that was sold, the balance of the funds remaining after the payment of the
aforesaid charges shall be paid to him, but if more than one year expires from the
date of the sale without anyone presenting himself to claim the balance and presenting
legal proof of his right thereto, then such balance shall be paid into the city treasury
and become the property of the city.
