§ 6-7. Dogs at large prohibited; violation, penalty.

(a)

It shall be unlawful for the owner of or person responsible for any dog to permit such dog to run or be at large. For the purposes of this section, the term "at large" shall mean off the premises of the owner or person responsible and not under control by leash, cord, chain or otherwise.

(b)

All owners, custodians or keepers of dogs who shall fail to comply with this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction by a court of competent jurisdiction shall be fined in accordance with section 1-9.
