§ 2-4. Board of adjustment.

(a)

Appointment. In order to carry out the provisions of R.S. 33:4727, the mayor, with the advice and consent of the board of aldermen, shall appoint a board of adjustment which shall consist of five members, who shall be landowners and qualified voters.

(b)

Terms of members. The membership of the first board shall serve for one, two, three, four and five years, respectively. Thereafter, members shall be appointed for terms of five years each. All members shall be removable for cause by the appointing authority upon written charges and after public hearings. Vacancies shall be filled by the appointing authority for the unexpired term of any member whose term becomes vacant.

(c)

Powers and duties. The board shall function in the manner and with the powers and duties set forth in R.S. 33:4727.
