§ 36-101. Installation of drainage culverts.

  • All aspects of culvert design, construction, and installation including, but not limited to, the material, size and depth of culverts or other drainage facilities to be installed in public drainage ditches or servitude areas, shall be established by the city based upon reasonable engineering standards. Installation of culverts or other drainage structures serving residential property shall be performed by the city at the sole cost and expense of the permit applicant in an amount to be set by the city. Installation of culverts or other drainage structures serving nonresidential property may be performed by the applicant through a duly licensed state contractor that shall be in compliance with all the requirements of the city and pursuant to plans submitted and approved by the city prior to installation. A person seeking installation of culverts or other drainage facilities serving nonresidential property may also have the installation performed by the city and the sole cost and expense of the applicant receiving the permit and in amount to be set by the city.
